Legal Kitty™ is education, not legal advice.
Watching the show, reading the blog, downloading a guide or emailing us does not make you a client, and it does not create an attorney-client relationship. For advice about your own situation, talk to a lawyer licensed where you live.

Agreeing to these terms
legalkitty.com is run by Legal Kitty ("we," "us"). By using the site, or by signing up for a guide, a cheat sheet or the drop list, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
You need to be at least 13 to sign up. If you're under 18, please check with a parent or guardian first.
Education, not legal advice
Legal Kitty™ is an educational show and blog. We break down the contracts, cases and laws behind the headlines so they're easier to follow. Everything we publish is general information for education and entertainment. That includes the videos, posts, guides, cheat sheets, emails, comments and DMs.
None of it is legal advice. The law changes, it differs from state to state and country to country, and the right answer always depends on facts we don't know about you. A celebrity's contract is not your contract.
Before you sign, sue, settle or make any other legal decision, talk to a lawyer licensed in your jurisdiction who has read your actual documents.
We work hard to get things right and we cite our sources, but we can't promise every page is complete or current. Sample clauses and checklists are teaching examples, not forms to copy into a real deal.
No attorney-client relationship
Nothing on this site creates an attorney-client relationship. That holds whether you read, watch, download, comment, DM or email. The only way to become a client is a written engagement agreement, signed by you and the attorney.
Until that agreement is signed, please don't send confidential or time-sensitive information. Anything you send before then may not be confidential or privileged, and sending it doesn't make anyone your lawyer.
The attorney behind Legal Kitty is licensed in California. Nothing here is an offer to provide legal services where she isn't licensed. Some of our content may count as attorney advertising. Results in any case we discuss depend on its own facts and don't predict yours.
Our content and the ™
The Legal Kitty™ name, logo and cat mark, our taglines, the show, the blog, the guides and cheat sheets, the illustrations and the design of this site belong to Legal Kitty or are used with permission. Copyright and trademark law protect them. The ™ symbol means we claim these names and marks as our trademarks. It doesn't mean they're federally registered.
You're welcome to
- read, watch, and share links to our pages, posts and videos
- download a guide or cheat sheet and keep or print a copy for your own personal, non-commercial use
- quote a short passage for commentary, review or news, with credit and a link back
Please don't
- sell, resell or give away our guides or cheat sheets, or bundle them into a product, course, membership or paid group
- post our PDFs somewhere else or upload them to shared drives or group chats (share the link instead)
- remove the ™, the copyright line or any credit
- use our name, logo, artwork or the Legal Kitty persona on your own products, or in a way that suggests we endorse you
- copy our content in bulk, scrape the site, or use our content to train AI models
Want to use something in a way that isn't covered here? Ask first at hello@legalkitty.com.
Some material we discuss, such as court filings, statutes, news reports, and the names and work of public figures, belongs to others. We use it for commentary and education, and it remains theirs.
Guides, cheat sheets and the email list
Our free guides and cheat sheets arrive by email. Signing up for one adds you to the Legal Kitty email list, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your details.
We may update, replace or retire a guide or cheat sheet whenever we like. Each one is dated, so check that you're reading the latest version. If we ever sell a paid product, its page will show the price and any extra terms, and those terms will apply alongside these.
Merch and the drop list
The merch on this site is a preview. The images are mock-ups, and designs, colors, sizes and prices may change before the drop.
Joining the drop list means we'll email you when the drop opens. It isn't an order. It doesn't reserve an item, and it costs nothing.
When the drop opens, you'll check out through our store's checkout page, which will show the price, shipping, taxes and return policy before you pay. Those checkout terms apply to your order. If we take pre-orders, the order page will say when items are expected to ship. If we can't ship by then, we'll tell you and you can choose to wait or cancel for a full refund. Quantities may be limited, and we may cancel and refund an order affected by a pricing mistake or a stock problem.
One more thing: merch is for fun. A tee that says "Confidential and Privileged" won't make anything privileged.
Your messages and ideas
If you send us a question, story or idea, by email, DM or comment, you let us use it, with identifying details removed, in an episode, post or guide, without payment. We won't name you or share your personal details without asking first.
Using the site fairly
Please don't use the site to break the law, try to hack, overload or interfere with it, sign other people up without their permission, or pretend to be someone you're not. We may block access for anyone who does.
Links to other sites
We link to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, news reports, court records, government sites and sometimes brands. We don't control those sites, and we aren't responsible for their content, products or privacy practices. A link isn't an endorsement. If a link or mention is ever paid or sponsored, we'll label it clearly.
Disclaimers
The site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. You use the site and its content at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Legal Kitty and the people who work with us won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or opportunities, arising from your use of the site or its content. That includes any decision you make based on it.
Our total liability for any claim about the site or its content is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
Indemnity
If you misuse the site or our content, break these terms, or violate someone else's rights, and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to defend us and to cover our reasonable losses and costs, including attorney's fees. We'll let you know about the claim, and we may take part in the defense with our own lawyer.
Governing law and disputes
The laws of the State of Delaware govern these terms, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute about the site or these terms will be heard in the state and federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction.
Before anyone files anything, please email us and give us 30 days to try to sort it out informally. Most problems end there. If you live outside the United States, you keep any protections your local law gives you that can't be waived.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll also post a note on the site or email subscribers. If you keep using the site after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
The rest of the fine print
These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the site. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't given it up. You can't transfer your rights under these terms. We can transfer ours to a business that takes over Legal Kitty.
